Evidence for Community Cloth Face Masking to Limit the Spread of SARS-CoV-2: A Critical Review

A comprehensive review of the quality of evidence used to assess the efficacy of using facial coverings as a means of viral infection control. Viral respiratory infections such as SARS-CoV-2 and RSV are transmitted by aerosols which have been shown to penetrate and escape through leaks around the facial coverings. The authors find the evidence supporting their use in the general public weak while potentially exposing wearers to harms. (Cato Institute Working Paper No. 64 by Ian T.
